International festival program of children’s creativity "Friends of Bulgaria"

V International choral festival
named after maestro Mednikarov

Aim:
To show the degree of skill of choirs, to get acquainted with the traditions of Bulgarian choral school and works of Bulgarian composers.

Time:
On June, from the16th to the 23th, 2008.

Place:
Bulgaria, resort complex “Albena” (the “Atlantic” hall) and Dobrich town (the organ hall)

Conditions of participation:
• Children’s (category А) and youth (category В) choirs (more than 12 members), choral ensembles (category С) (from 2 to 12 members), individual singers (category D) are invited.
• All the participants can be divided into age groups: from 6 to 14 years old, from 14 and older
• Works are performed in the original language
• Criteria which the discussion of groups’ participation is based on : technical (quality of sound, accuracy of sound intonation, accuracy of text pronunciation); artistic (phrasing, structure of musical form, parameters of musical interpretation and style preservation of the work which is performed, choice of music programme, stage culture)

Festival programme:
1. Work of Bulgarian author (according to the wish of the leader sheet music can be sent by e-mail).
2. Freestyle programme /not more than 4 works/
3. Individual singers can participate only with freestyle programme /not more than 2 works/

Repertoire of the united choir: P.Pipkov. “Kiril and Methody’s hymn”, S.Prokof’’ev “Mnogaja leta”, Beethoven “Ode of joy”
The programme provides for meetings and personal discussions of conductors and choirmasters with the members of the jury. According to the results of the Festival “Diploma”, “Diploma of the winner”, “Diploma of the winner of the first degree”, “Grandpre” are presented. Special prizes as “Silver bird”, “Gold bird” are delivered by the organizers of the Festival.

Necessary documents: (are allowed not later than on April, 15, 2007 by the organization):
• application for participation of the choir /individual singer/ (DOWNLOAD)
• list of arriving people (first name, last name, date of birth, number of the passport issued specifically for travel abroad)

Staying price per one person under 16: 220 euro
Staying price per one person above 16: 250 euro

• The price includes: 8 days/7 nights stay at the hotel 2** in rooms with two and three beds with all conveniences, meals according to the system “All inclusive” ( breakfast, dinner, supper – Swedish table with drinks, during the day – tea, coffee, cool soft drinks, ice-cream, sweet pastry, barbecue, pizza, hamburgers and so on. at the hotel and swimming-pool bar; for children and accompanying men – free alcohol Bulgarian drinks till 11 p.m.), bus transportation in Republic of Bulgaria, festival events.
• At 20 participants the 21st place is free.

Participation in the Festival for 15 days/14 nights is admitted.
